I think there was a similar thread a year or two about some bloke called Fevola. I'm glad we didn't sign him and I'll be just as glad when Cloke doesn't come here...

I'm not a Cloke fan by any stretch of the imagination but he doesn't come with anywhere near the off field baggage of Fevola.

Certainly would be, a player of his caliber would have made a huge difference in game like tonight's.

It could have.. Plugger only played a game and a quarter in 2002..

I'd love a great power forward to be there working with Reid (like a new Hall & O'Loughlin scenario), but I don't think Cloke would fit the Swans culture. Certainly doesn't seem to have what it takes to be a Blood. Would probably fail the 'No Dickheads' policy too.

I think he does have the potential to have the bloods spirit instilled and Plugger and Barry probably did fail the no dickheads policy but they were tantalising propositions.

They chose to put their faith in Sam Reid as a long-term option. I don't like the idea of two big forwards on long-term contracts, especially when Cloke will come at a big cost at a time when we have a few young players whose value is rapidly increasing.

For better or worse, they need to build around Reid. Cloke is not the answer.

The cost is an issue, a mill a year is a stretch. If he could give us 70 goals a season then maybe.
