    US Combine

Noticed on the AFL website that they had held a combine in the U.S. and six try outs had beaten Nic Natanui's jump record. Now that's WOW!

Made me wonder what has happened/is happening with our U.S. import, Stirling something?

Wasn't going to hit Sydney until September (had to finish his schooling). Should be on deck some time soon I would think. Unless he has changed his mind. Probably not though.

Be an interesting experiment. They be able to prove that white guys can't jump, except if your name is Howe.
I see Shae McNamara from the Pies has been delisted.

Also noticed Collingwood delisted the much hyped NSW product Trent Stubbs that they picked up from Hawthorn who had him on a NSW Scholarship but chose not to list him.

About four years ago some Hawks supporters were claiming he was going to be a star that had spurned the Swans in favour of them. Looks like it has turned to @#$% for Stubbs.

That's early delistings before the season is finished for them.

You might find that it is not so much lack of ability as lack of appropriate attitude that is the problem.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

Now they just have to teach them to handpass, run and kick, read the play, correct postion etc etc etc.

I'm sure that if they did the same test in Africa then some of those Zulu tribes might be even better.

Hopefully, Stirling's journey over is not gathering moss.

Alex Starling, isn't it? I drool at the prospect at three (smart) Alexes, including the new bird migrating to the Swans.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Yes, will be very interesting ... like the spectacle everyone is anticipating with bated breath, when Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake come out for the 20/20 ... there won't be a fitter/"faster" athlete in world cricket ... be very surprised if either of them score a run or get a full over on the pitch, let alone take a wicket!

... but good luck to them, if even one player makes it, it enriches the code and spreads the word ... I'm certain the Swans have a strong following in British Columbia that wasn't there a few years ago!
