I'm not an SCG member but I am vehemently opposed to us playing home finals anywhere but the SCG now that Homebush is in the heart of GWS territory...Comment

Re: Top Spot
Oh dear, I was clapping along right up until the last 4 words... That Stadium could be in the middle of @@@@ing George St and I'd still feel the same way.
By your logic Jono anyone who lives West of Bondi Junction should hand their memberships in. After all if we shouldn't play at Homebush because it's in GWS territory then the Swans shouldn't be taking money from people in the area...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Jono by your reckoning we'll loose half our supporters. You might think the West is GWS territory but there are a plethora of Swans fans who have stuck solid with the team that has represented them for the last 30+ years. If we ditched the team as quickly as you ditched us this club would be on the brink.
I also have a preference for the SCG, but I think there have been occasions where ANZ is appropriate. When the SCG is fully upgraded that need perhaps disappears.Comment

Cheer squad just likes to imply anyone who wants swans games to be played at our home ground must be an scg member. It's a chip on shoulder issue.
I agree with big al though, we are the Sydney swans, not the east Sydney swans. Don't buy into afl made up rivalry with gws, it's our territory too. It's not 'where' the ground is, it's that it is no good for football (raised bays designed to watch pole vault, javelin, high jump, long jump etc) lack of atmosphere and shocking facilities pre and post match.
Most importantly it is not our home ground.Comment

Ok maybe I have been sucked in by the AFL's idea that Sydney's west is the Giants territory..... I really do appreciate those of our supporters who live in the west and continue to support Sydney's one true team, the Swans! I certainly haven't ditched the team so I'm not sure how I gave that impression... Anyway I will be at Homebush in 3 weeks time cheering us into the GF, and I hope we get a healthy turnout there to see it....Jono by your reckoning we'll loose half our supporters. It certainly is a chip-on-the-shoulder issue. There are many SCG members with a nasty chip-on-their-shoulder about Homebush, who are very bitter about losing their monopoly on international cricket events in Sydney. They'll just have to get used to it.Comment

Hey CS I appreciate your honesty in expressing how you feel about the whole ANZ vs SCG thing - I for one appreciate it when someone expresses the reasons behind why they're opposed to something that affects out team. I'm opposed to GWS because I fear it won't work and I am concerned of the impact it could have on the Swans. I think at the end of the day we are all wanting what's best for the Swans and many of us feel that basing ourselves solely at the SCG is best for us, whilst others appreciate the potential crowds and exposure ANZ can bring. I think it's a really interesting debate and I am quite happy to have a robust discussion here on the whole topic.
As I think I said earlier, I'll be at Homebush cheering our boys on and I hope everyone else gets behind them too - its gonna be a tough series from here and the boys will need all the help they can get
