I agree with this - he did the crime, now he should do the time. It was pretty clear that he was a naughty boy, and I'm not entirely comfortable in the whole idea of splitting hairs to try to get the charge downgraded on a technicality....Comment

I just want to win. If Chapman will be playing this weekend after sending bloodied Ben off the field I have NO problem with Reg playing after a tussle with Pods that neither was injured by. Considering the charges for which other players have received no penalty I think it's bit self righteous to say "I want to see Swans players suspended".Comment

The bloody MRP and judicial system has been a dog's breakfast all year and longer. Arguably, it is the single biggest problem faced by the AFL at the moment and something it has to improve.
Adrian Anderson was interesting on OTC last night. He is a good spin doctor who holds the corporate line well [read: he didn't really say much] but he did concede there were issues with consistency from the MRP/judicial process and that there is room for improvement (or something like that).Comment

From the Tribunal...This is what Grundy's defence team are taking....
Grundy's team will be arguing he is not guilty as the force was insufficient. They will also argue it was reckless, not intentional, if the Tribunal believe the contact was sufficient.Swannies for life!Comment

Like many I have been bewildered by decisions of the MRP with some players getting off while others get suspended for something similar. After Stevie J getting a week for his bump on Hanners I decided to read through the MRP's report of their deliberations on Afl.com web page. All was revealed. It all hinges on past misdemeanors and accumulation of points over varying periods of time. So even though what SJ did seemed trivial to me, it came down to his past record. No wonder he belatedly rushed to get Hanners to his feet. What Chapman did was worse and more damaging but he got off because of his lesser points accumulation. Totally wierd!Last edited by rojo; 4 September 2012, 05:55 PM.Comment
