    Keep LRT down back?

He had a beauty and along with Teddy led the defensive unit. Fit into the back 6 perfectly.

I think Morton should be started in the forward line as he has the spark we need and that Grundy should come in for McGlynn. I know it's not a straight swap.

So the question is this. Do we promote Parker into the interchange and have Malceski as the sub, and Reg in the interchange?
Then use LRT in bursts up forward as a swing-man ala Adam Hunter for WCE circa 05-06.

    Thoughts?

If we need some tall up forward at times during a game I think that moving LRT up there from defence as required is a great idea. But he should mostly be playing in our defence, where he played a great game yesterday. Morton definately deserves to keep his place. Grundy will go straight back into to team (why iinterchange?).

      Re: Keep LRT down back?

I woke up this morning and said to myself what RWO needs is another LRT thread.

He'll play where the coaches need him to play. I'm happy with whatever they decide. Having said that he was pretty good yesterday so if the Swans lost their minds and handed me the coaching role i'd probably start LRT down back and then swing him forward if needed.

Reg should be sub. Might teach him a lesson.

Like many have said before, LRT should primarily be played down back. It's where he plays his best football and is most valuable to the team.

I think we can play all of LRT, Richards and Grundy in defence. We just need to find a new role for AJ. I think he can play a tagging role on a wingman, oldside mid. Like if we play CW next, perhaps he could tag Thomas or Sidebottom.

Well, I'd prefer we played West Coast in the prelim, as that would make the win more likely IMHO. And against them, 3 or 4 tall defenders are required. This may mean we push up Malceski or Mattner to play midfield (on Embley perhaps?). But it is all idle speculation until we find out our opponent. Then it becomes.. er more idle speculation.

Its going to be interesting. We need someone to fill bens role. Is it Parker? Is it Morton (who doesnt have the tank i dont think). I really like Parker coming on as sub. I think having a mid as the sub is real important for us. Need to win ball in the last qtr.

Yes. Please don't put him forward..LRT ruins our forward line it looked so much better with goodesy, riedy and morts. I love LRT in defence.
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

I think he should start down back but definitely also get a hair cut and a tattoo.

It may be too late to start Parker in a game now, sub twice and a week off now, I think he may be stuck. Hard to leave Grundy out of the side, but player matchups will wait til we know who we are playing

Could they/would they play Parker this weekend in the NEAFL to give him a run?

Would there be eligibility problems with that?
