Just looking at the NEAFL rules and regulatiuons and it states a player must have played a minimum of three home and away games to qualify for a finals team. Parks only played two didn't he?

      Gahh that Adam Hunter ><

I only have bad memories of that guy, such a gun in those premiership years.

LRT did a great job for us against the Crows and IMO, he's a natural defender. Our backline were brilliant under sustained pressure and he was a big part of that.

Morton also had a great game and I think he does have a bit of spark about him. He certainly did not lack motivation and performed well on the day.

I'd leave LRT down back, and hope that McGlynn makes a miraculous recovery.

If we are playing the Weagles, then we will need all the talls down back we can get.

Pies are a different matter and it will be a bigger headache to fit Grundy back in the backline...

The beaker looked really good down back last weekend, there was actually this great piece of play, i think in the last quarter, the ball came in along the ground with him being 1 on 1 with his opponent, he stopped it dead with one hand, his opponent ran on thinking it was gonna bounce through, he casually picked it up and ran off the other way, i thought it was a fantastic deft touch and shows what composure he has down back.

Grundy used to be a forward didn't he? I know he has turned into one of our best defenders, but sometimes I feel his disposal is a bit dodgy and sometimes gets caught behind his man. Perhaps play grundy up forward, he can use his the defensive experience he's gained down back to keep the ball locked in our forward line and some clangers, which I feel he is sometimes prone to under pressure may not cost us a goal at a vital stage

I think you hit the nail on the head TB. Pies will be a completely different scenario, and I think LRT has proven a) he is a big game player (really should have won a norm smith as a defender) b) has huge experience c) is actually a really brilliant defender (quick and smart)

The second scenario is that MM is a bit of a "from left field" move... how hungry does he look! Was really good on the weekend.

Grundy is a good defender and obviously knows the routine, but is break from routine the X factor that could offset our opponents planning? Grundy as a forward sub v Parker as a mid/forward sub assuming Benny is fit with Morton starting....

              and LRT down back!!!!

My advice at this stage is "Don't change a thing!" On Saturday we finally had an almost impassable backline which apart from the odd turnover from Shaw rarely put a foot wrong. The one or two goals that Grundy usually gives up through clumsy tackling or brain fade never happened.
The forward line looked a lot better without LRT there and with Morton and Reid there it was always dangerous. The whole team was awesome and worked as one.
If we put Grundy back to CHB and LRT back in the forwards we lose something.Assuming McGlynne will be absent I suggest we leave Morton in the team.Moving Smith to the Centre Square in a tagging role leaves a space for LRT in the backlines as well as a space for Grundy. We will need both against Cloke, Cox or the Q stick. We will need Smith against Dane Swan or the WCE brigade of ball getters.Grundy in for McGlynne should be the only change.

Then its up to Horse to use the talent he has so we get into the GF.

Gotta say, I don't think it'll revert to the way it was with LRT forward and Grundy back.

Watch Grundy and Ted's interviews on the Swans website.

Grundy says he's going to have to fight his way back in and Ted says they're tweeking their structures and LRT can play back, forward and in the ruck.

                  Definitely something fishy going on.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

With Cloke now in top form, who knows, perhaps we will see some changes. Certainly Cloke had the wood on Grundy, so perhaps we will see LRT take him? Where does that leave Grundy?

If as expected little Mac doesn't come good, who do we bring in? If Grundy or some other tall we risk being too slow, but when it comes to runners, the cupboard is looking bare. Meredith hasn't played all year, we wouldn't debut Lamb, so I suppose it will be Armstrong (and in the vest too)

If Grundy plays on Cloke the pies will win.

Grundy in for Mcglynn and a bit of position shuffling. I dont see how they could leave out Grundy, he would be the stiffest player In history to lose his place at this stage of the year. LRT or Reg on Cloke, Ted on Dawes ( who he should destroy and be able to peel off to double team Cloke) , AJ on gold sack . Whoever doesn't play on Cloke goes forward. Parker to start forward and play more time there than midfield. Only issue is the sub. Has to be out of Marty or Mal for me. Bird and Smith will be needed to tag and Rhyce provides too much run. All others have to start, Morton included. Watched the replay of the QF the other day, Morton's game was fantastic.
