    Capt Macca

    No Love for Macca?
Played a terrific game and showing the offensive prowess that we had been lacking, and that we know he is capable of.
I still question his captaincy at times but he has been quite invaluable. On par with Jack as the the in form player in the second half of the season, and without as much fanfare.

Love this team! Go the Swans!

I wish the delivery of some of our other players was as good as Macca's. Very influential game.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Yep another good game from macca. I think you have been a bit unfair to rok though. Had a great second half year.

LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

Thanks Shaun that is a great article.

McVeigh's back half of the year has been excellent - as his game against the Crows demonstrated. Finds time and space, and generally uses the ball really well.

This. Been very happy with his second hand of the year.

Macca was excellent yesterday. I just think his performance was overshadowed by the euphoria of the victory. I thought he was pivotal in setting us on the right track early in the game.

What I like about Macca is that he has really hardened up. What he did yesterday down back was all tough stuff. In and under and making sure forwards didn't get an easy touch. Quick hands and great disposal.

Thanks Shaun. What extraordinary strength of character Macca has shown. It is so good that the birth of their new little daughter has brought them joy and is helping them move on. Macca has been able to go from just hanging in there under great anxiety and pressure, to playing with an assurance and confidence that is good to see.

I still think we haven't seen his very, very best football. Maybe next year will be his year when he gets up there alongside Kennedy and Jack and even Goodes in the recognition stakes!!

I thought he was awesome for the entire game. Some super centre clearances. Just what we needed.

I must see i am eating humble pie about mcveigh as for some time i just couldnt see his best being good enough. But for much of this year he has been very consistent and deserved of being co-captain.

The other thing that surprised me was an article from scott Pendlebury a month or two ago. In the article he put together what made the perfect afl player - he picked single attributes from around 12 of the games greats, and mcveigh made the list in terms of his disposal quality.

Just shows hes rated highly from other players as well.
