Looking at the online ticketek guide, it seems you can't choose your seat, you're just offered the best seat the category you choose. Is this correct? What do people here do to get there preferred seat...ring up?...go in person?
Ticketek website gives you "best available" seats. If you want specific seats or section, you'd need to call or go to ticketek.

This is something I dislike immensely as the computer's idea of 'best available' and mine can be quite different. One previous year 'best available' seated me right on boundary which some might like but I don't - I like to have height for a better overall view. Re going/calling Ticketek, in the past I have found they will sell your preferred area. However in buying tickets for last week's Adelaide match in person at TicketMaster, I found the behind-the-counter sellers simply used the same computing system as I would have used from home and I was given the same computer-allocated 'best available' as I could have got for myself. Does anyone know for certain if in-person/telephone sales from Ticketek will still sell you your preferred area? Don't want to waste time queuing in person or on phone and find I am no better off.

Last time I queued for tickets with Ticketek, they couldn't do any better with seats than if I bought them myself online. I don't queue anymore.

+1 it'll cost you more and you can do pretty much just as much online as they can do behind the counter (no offence to staff, it's just what the system is capable of doing).

Holy crap. After having a look at the map and seeing how few bays there are for bronze and silver and the fact that gold seats are around the whole back perimeter I would be very surprised if we get 50,000 even.

So if I choose Bronze best available tomorrow. Do I get a chance to cancel if they allocate me in the nosebleeds and not behind the goals? As if this was the case I would want to up the category to Silver. Any experience/comments?

You can absolutely cancel your selection and start again and try a better catergory of seating. It will give you the option.

I'm nervous about this game.. we *should* win, which is why I don't think we will win. I have been having a lot of nightmares that may or may not be related to the stress of knowing we're playing Collingwood

I am right thre with you. I feel like we lost a game at the weekend and yet we didn't play. My excitement for the week has diminished and I can't snap out of it.

I'm currently trying to talk my friend back around to coming on Friday - he doesn't want to go through a other Collingwood game at Homebush. I can see where he's coming from and don't blame him for being so scarred from previous experience out there.....

We have lost last two games v Pies there by around a goal incl the last one with 7 behinds and a couple out on the full, they have had an extra game and us a well earned rest, if they win this they deserve the granny, we can and will win...

I share your friends feelings but overshadowing it is the unbridled euphoria I know I will feel at being there when we finally do it - especially if that means knocking those sanctimonious tossers out of the flag race!

I'm really hoping that the Pies
Played their "big final" on Saturday night - they were bashed up and emotionally spent. And at the end of the day we only have been beaten by such a small
Margin by them in the previous two matches that it could go either way. and I reckon we will do it, it won't be a thrashing but we will do it. have faith !!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

They only have a 6 day turnaround.
Have played to very physical contests and must be really sore.
