Congrats to Garry Ablett on the AFLPA MVP award. Some interesting past winners from 1985-88 ...

Previous winners of the Leigh Matthews Trophy for Most Valuable Player:
1985 - Greg Williams (Geelong)
1986 - Paul Roos (Fitzroy)
1987 - Tony Lockett (St Kilda)
1988 - Gerard Healy (Sydney)

None of them were "recycled" by us in today's sense of successful recruiting, but all were very handy pickups .
Can't believe Gerard Healy is our only MVP. Goodsey, Kelly, Williams must have gone close at various times.
