    McGlynn in for GF?

Given Mcglynn had a hamstring strain which is normally 3 weeks and reduced game time for a couple of games when returning to the team, should he be included for the GF team?
I think Morton did enough the other night with his tackling and chasing so its probably McGlynn v Parker. Given Parkers limited game time over the last month his fitness level isnt high but Mcglynn will have lost fitness over the last 3 weeks. With a hammy and not being able to do much aerobic activity it is suprising how fast peak fitness is lost.

Risk that McGlynn can contribute (prob as sub?) given the expected intensity of the game or stick with Parker as sub? IMHO its too big a risk to bring McGlynn back in and given his probable fitness level would he only come back as the sub? No doubt he deserves the chance but is the individual need greater than the teams??

    Cheers

After the experience with Hanners last year, I doubt McGlynn would come in unless he was fully fit. And if he does, it's likely as a sub replacement for Parker. I think I read somewhere that McGlynn has been running since Wednesday, so he probably has not lost all that much fitness.

I wouldnt be upset with McGlynn for Parker. McGlynn would be more of an impact player as a sub.

All I can say is that I hope he plays, even if it's for a couple of minutes. Just so he can say he was part of it.

He's been wonderful for us all year and it would be cruel for him to miss out. Fingers crossed he makes it.

Anyone else notice Rohan's face in the sheds after the game - can have a guess what was going through his mind.

McGlynn is good but I just can't see the potential upside to the team being worth the risk.

I couldn't see Morton in the huddle singing the song.. Not sure if I missed him but if not I wonder why he was not there.

I did actually and I know exactly what you are thinking. It's the first time I haven't seen him with a big cheesy grin all year.

Pretty sure he'll be rapt for them tho and it would provide good inspiration to work hard on his rehab to step in next year in a side he knows will be up near the top for a few years to come...

I also noticed Tony Armstrong's face when they were singing the song. Growing up as a Swans supporter and being a whisker away from playing in a grand final with them would be bittersweet. Definitely adds to their motivation though for next year and I hope to see them both playing in a flag very soon. Both deserve it! As does the one to miss out this week re McGlynn injury. Hope they get their chance one day.

I hope he plays but it's just not worth the risk if he's in doubt.

I think with the scans these days they can tell just how much damage there is to the muscle. It's quite scientific, so they should know what the risks are.

Got some reports/journal articles to support that?

Franklin's doctor must have just not known what he was looking at.

It was a brain scan? Or maybe a humility scan?

Jeeze, risky to play McGlynn. If he plays, he'd have to start wouldn't he? Then, if his hammy went again he'd be subbed off. The other way around and we'd be left short. That thought process alone makes me think you'd leave him out. Then again, if he gets through a searching training session on Thursday he's simply recovered and ready to play. I don't know... too nervous to think straight. If McGlynn plays I suppose it's Parker or Morton to miss out. Morton would need to play if its dry but Parker if it's wet. Five days out, the weather forecast is for rain. There is a cruel selection story unfolding regardless.
