    "Slingshot" Swans

Apparently we now play a new form of footy called "slingshot footy".

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

That's a report from the Melbourne 'Herald Sun'. The term slingshot has been used for pretty much most of the year. I know from watching 'On the Couch' on Fox that Gerard Healy and Paul Roos have been using it since round 3.

This weekend I was watching the swans v west coast game from last year when Rohan came on as a sub. Attacked the ball like a maniac for 30 mins and ended up with around 11 possessions.

What a shame he wont be there on the weekend
He ate more cheese, than time allowed

God I've missed Gary this year. We would be a much better team with him. His marking ability, his height, speed, versatility... We're in a grannie, but I can't help but think about the sort of team we'd be with him. Must be hard for him sitting on the sidelines. Poor thing.

Agreed a little Red Rooster would have been very handy indeed!

              Absolutely. Would blow them away.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

If nothing else we'd have a far more damaging forward line!
