I feel awful. Needs lots of love form the club this week I reckon. Will be harder if we win a premiership, becasue he's worked to build this team as much as anyone. How many times has be put his body on the line for his teammates? There is always someone who misses out I suppose...

Hang in there Big Ben ... I have a feeling there will be more opportunities than just this week for this group ...

Poor Gopher. One of my faves. Stupid laws of physics & their injury-makingness.

Fate can be a cruel mistress. At least McVeigh, Malceski and Richards get a chance to bury their 2006 demons. Shaw as well from 2003. Jack for his old man losing 2 league GFs. The Hawks go on about unfinished business as a motivator but they've got nothing on our mob.

Funny as it seems, Gazza actually walked like he had a limp BEFORE he broke the leg. I know a few of us watching him in the ressies the first year always thought he had suffered a leg injury the way he walked and jogged...

I think Benny knew he was gone the day he did the hammy. He knew the selectors were not going to take a player short of a run into a GF. I feel for him as he has been so wonderful this year and tries every game and puts his head where others fear to tread. Unfortunately he knew he was gone and failing the fitness test was probably better than being told that due to lack of match fitness he wouldn't be playing. Next year Benny! I know the boys will want to be there again and I think there will be a few who were not there this year that will join you then.
