    Re: How confident are we?

As I've said before I practice optimistic pessimism. I'm always supremely confident we'll get beat in every game. The Hawks deserve to be favourite and will probably be too good.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I'm reasonably confident in our form but I think it is too close to call. Anything could happen- both teams are hard to beat at there best and their worst isn't that bad. I could see both the Hawks or the Swans winning by 30.

Never confident before any game. Over the years we have lost the unloseable and won the unwinnable.

What I do know is there are plenty of poo and wee fans out there that think they only have to show up and they'll win the flag. I know that is not the case.

If our boys handle the occasion, and play close to their best, then we are in with an almighty shout. I don't care what the odds say, what all the pundits say - we are in this up to our little Swannie necks!

Bring it on I say - I think its too close to call, but whatever may happen, I know one thing I'm confident in - come the final siren, no matter the result, I'll be damn proud of what our boys have achieved this season!

They have too much class all over the ground. They score heavily as well.

We need to lock it down, win the clearance count and kick accurately. Our handballing has to be slick like in the pf. If we can limit Franklins potency and shut down the mids.

              Swans by 8.

I am confident we can win but not that we necessarily will.

Well said Liz. My head and heart are already in the same battle as Hodge's bowels - and with the same result.

I was more nervous last week, just wanted to get where we are so badly.

Quietly confident this week, our swannies just seem so focused to me.

Depends which millisecond you ask me. The Hawks at full throttle are the irresistible force; we have to be both accurate at scoring and be the immovable object. If the Swans show up at their best and most tightly-organised, we can do it. The slightest weakness though and the Hawks will exploit it mercilessly.

That is the key to the game I reckon.
If the other 2 are in order, we just need to get some contested marks I50.

Accuracy was a problem for the hawks in their last 2 games.
9.10 and 5.10 in the first half of both games.
                            to out 7.2, 7.9.

                            Hawks 11.9, 8.9 to Swans 4.3, 6.9 in the 2nd halves

If we lock them down like we did in first quarter of the SCG game, and the mids at least break even, then we're a huge chance.
