It was only after re-watching the last quarter , I realised what a fine game he played.

I thought it was telling that Mumford was the one subbed. Possibly injured...definitely down on his normal output.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

That artical in the Vancouver paper was great but what was even more awesome was that the game was on tele there.

And the scary thing for the opposition is that he appears to have a lot of improvement to come.

I love Mike, but his play is very predictable. He tends to handball once he takes the mark. He is pretty fast, maybe once he's more confident he'll run it up a bit more. It's good he plays within his limitations but after watching his try against the All Blacks, it's obvious he can run!

Reminds me of an old fullback we once had.
But I reckon Pykes kicking is much better.

Pyke got the ball in the fwd Pocket, in the 4th term (I think). He popped it on the left boot, and it landed just in the field of play, and bounced out.
I would have loved to have seen him try and sprint around his opponent. Small steps I guess.

Yes he is a good kick and It would be nice to see him start to back his skills a bit more. After the confidence of 17 consecutive senior games and a Herculean performance on the grandest stage, he could be a very dangerous player next year. Look out for the big Moose in 2013!

Actually, he is now starting to be less predictable with his handpasses. On Saturday he moved the ball on by foot a few times without looking around for the handpass, and he is reading the play much better and putting himself in marking contests, and presenting for the kicks down the line.
