    John Longmire

You gotta hand it to this guy.....he made moves throughout the game that impacted the result. Thats exactly what you want from a coach and under the greatest pressure in finals...and then in this Grand Final. The game plan......his use of LRT (particularly late in the game) , the whole team's work rate (ie tackle count) and what seemed calmness under pressure while the rest of us were hitting the beer or scotch and maybe going for a walk................

    Horse.......The BIGGEST CONGRATS!

You could equally start a tribute thread to Richard Colless (and perhaps Paul Roos) for the appointment.

It was really hard outside of the inner sanctum to know how good Longmire would be (to a large extent he was untried as a senior coach), but the systems that had been put into place under Colless and Roos (which Longmire must have really bought into) enabled a seamless transition to occur.

Well done John Longmire - Premiership Coach! It is a fine line sometimes and he did well by sticking fat when things looked lost.

Bloody brilliant horse. What a coach, pulls all the right moves. Credit to him. Go Bloods.
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

You don't get Coach of The Year award for nothing. I love the way he asked his Mum if she "enjoyed the game". Kudos.

I was happy from the start with the way the handover from Roos to Longmire was handled. Today was an outstanding vindication of the club's judgement and understanding of this talented man. I am so pleased he missed out on St Kilda.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Yes it wasn't all that long ago that the lunatic fringe of this forum wanted him sacked - along with LRT, Malceski, Pyke et al. Gets rather boring actually.
