    Stephen Doyle

After being happy that Malceski, McVeigh and Richards had won a flag after 2006 (and not being in the team in 2005), I was wondering if there were any players who had played in 2006 and not in 2005, but also missed out in 2012.

I only came up with Stephen Doyle. He is the only 21st century Swans grand finalist without a medallion (unless I made a mistake flicking between tabs in Wikipedia).

Nice stat. Bad for the Donkey though.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Poor old Fuse. At least he was better than Darren Jolly on the day. Big fan of DJ , but his Christmas ..ahemmm... "celebrations" cost us that flag.

Yep. The Donk is the only player who took the field in the 2006 Grand Final who didn't end up with a premiership medal.

But, as an assistant coach at Norwood in the SANFL (where he finished up his much-injured playing days), he'll hopefully get to witness 21 of his charges collect a premiership medal this Sunday. Will ease the pain if it does happen, no doubt.

Amazing stat, actually. There was so little turnover between the 2005 and 2006 sides (when you bear in mind vagaries of form, fitness, trades and retirement)-- and 3/4 of the turnover that there was, was to the benefit of guys who have since stuck around for more than half a decade. Actually, a little bit more than just 'stuck around'-- one is our captain, the second is an AA, and the last now has 'kicking the winning goal in an AFL GF' on his resum?! Very impressive.

A few ex-Swans at Norwood - Dean Terlich, Simon Phillips, Kane Murphy (never officially a Swan but we'll claim him)

                None at West Adelaide

I know he started in the 2's down there, can I take it that Kane is now doing well?

Still keeping an eye on him, and yes he is better at the sharp end of the year than he started out at. So I would say he is doing well. I hope he gets picked up, hopefully by us, if not us then someone else. He is small but tough and "built". He played a lot of toppie games for us last year, and I rather thought that they would give him a gig but George told him to go and getter harder experience in a better competition, so he did.

I can only go by the results and team lists, since he made the 1st team he hasn't been back to the 2nds and has made the best lists 4 times out of his 12 games.

We must go for Norwood, they are almost a Swans feeder club.

Grundy, Crouchy, Fossie all came from Norwood and Scotty Direen finished at Norwood. They're just off the top of my head, so quite possibly more...

Yawn. This myth still has traction.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

Just checked, Kane Murphy actually didn't play in the previous final and Norwood expected to go in unchanged.

A few years ago, Matt "Smokey" Davis and Sam Rowe also played along with Doyle, Phillips and Terlich in the same team.

Yeah, I was surprised when I looked it up that there was only one player in this situation. I'd expected perhaps a couple more.
