    Wow......
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

Emma Quayle on Twitter just suggested Swans sending Parker to Essendon as part of the Tippett deal.

I think with Tippett we'll be able to free up Goodes to play him more in the middle and wing, which we saw in the finals is still his best position on the ground. And I'd try to keep Morton in the forward line.

We have so many good players I don't see how we're affording to keep them all on the list. I'd love to see Morton and Armstrong become regulars next year but I don't see the room with McGlynn and Rohan returning from injury and then Tippett coming into the team.

And Parker shall one day share the captaincy with Jack.
            We must not trade him.

And whilst I'm here - you can keep your Swans and Pendleburys and all the other "elites".
The mob we've got will do for me - time to acknowledge OUR elites.

Doesn't make any sense. The only reason to trade one of our young guns is to get a high draft pick - as close to top 10 as possible. Once the FS bidding starts on Monday, the Bombers will no longer have their first round pick. It will be committed to Daniher.

The notion would make more sense (though be no less unpalatable) if it were a club other than Essendon. Mind you, the Bombers are desparate for a player like Parker.

Quayle wasn't reporting that Parker was on the table or that the Bombers were interested, it's just a case of her "thinking out loud" about the kind of multi club deal that will probably have to be done for the Tippett trade to go ahead.

And there are going to be plenty more"thinking out louds" with the trade. This will be fascinating and extremely complex. Heaps of movement with draft picks and player movements to get it done.

Unless Grundy wanted to go back to Adelaide and a straight swap was made, I would say deal off. Give up our first round draft pick - no; give up Parker - no.

We seem to be paying way over the top for a fair quality forward. I dare say the money might be over quoted. I cannot believe we would trade a premiership player.

Will probably be first pick + player ... just who that is, who knows. We'd happily give them White but with McKernan, Jenkins and the likes I doubt they'd bite. May be a case of meeting in the middle. They'd want AJ, Parker, we say no - how about X (mid range-good player).

Some talk of Grundy - wouldn't want this to happen but if it got the deal done, perhaps. LRT can go back for a year or two as AJ develops, by that time Lockyer should be ready to go. Club seems to rate the kid and should fill out to KPD size, similar to Reg.

                          back to the thread:

it is a tough one.......given that we now have massive selection headaches.......... our best 22 players might not always be our best team for matchups

ie can Mummy, Pyke, LRT, and older Goodes and Tippett all be in the 22 ?..........maybe........but only with the right matchups

my concern is that maybe Rohans injury is a lot more serious then we hoped for and 2013 maybe a long recovery..........so given Goodes age and injuries this year also we need to sure up a player that can make a siginficant contest upfront and get us 35 to 55 goals a season

dont forget that Mummy comes off a $250k pa contract end of 2013 and his pay will incease dramatically or he might want to head back to Vic??

Adelaide and Tippett agreed to an odd clause in his contract that requires the club to help him find a new club and all they can expect in return is a second round draft pick. Jake niall has story running on age website. Looks confirmed with on the record quotes. If this is true then swans don't need to offer up someone like parker. Jesse tdl a few more in twos who wld get a game elsewhere may be all that is required. Can't see why other clubs could play a part.
