LRT is now a life member and was unlucky not to get the Norm Smith although ROK had an unbelievable game. Even though we dont rely on Goodsey as much as we used to, the pressence of the great man is enough. had he gone off in the GF then i doubt we could have come back. I cant see Goodsey playing much more than on the HF line or FF to provide guidance and another tall in the forward lineComment

Once a player reaches the age of 31 its like waiting for the other shoe to drop. Go on, admit I am right in this instance. Each and any other player you can think of.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Injury recovery does come into it but he may be lucky.
I think he will know when its time to call it a day. I'm guessing another 2 years maybe 3 years at max.Nothing like a good light bulb moment.Comment

It is going to depend on injuries I think. I don't know much about the healing of ligament damage in knees but if we have Jude and Adam running around one knock away from serious knee injuries it is going to be a bit scary.
Goodesy's 6 week stint on the sidelines this season showed that the team could win without him. It was a great relief to know that now there are others ready and able to stand up in the crunch times. However, in the grand final last quarter when the chips were really down, Goodesy on one leg was crucial to us getting over the line. Every player stepped up and did their bit, it was a great team effort but when he goes on the ball he can still make things happen. To see him bashing and crashing into players in those last 5 or so mins, knowing he was injured, was just an amazing sight. A bit of a reality check, he was needed.

He certainly picked a good time to damage the PCL. With the right professional attention and a summer to rest then rehab accompanied by Goodes professionalism in making every effort to be right for the new season, there is no reason why he won't be firing on all pistons in round one.
That being the case, he could be a potent contribtor yet again as a third musketeer with Reid and Tippett.Comment

Had to put my glasses on as I saw the "S" on the other word.
