There is talk that we have an outside chance of drafting someone with inside potential. However, the reality is that we are clearly just outside any chance of this inside pick happening.

I'll leave it to "The Beat" to do the job he does so well. How anyone can predict who will be available at pick 23 or beyond is either getting paid to do it or has far too much time on their hands.

I still haven't recovered from Barlow being touted as the new Goodes.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

      I like Tom Clurey.

Our First pick is now 22 with Adelaide withdrawing their first 2 picks in this draft.

How bizarre. They are volunteering a penalty before even arguing their case and with no knowledge of the penalty, if any, that the Commission will impose IF they are found to have transgressed.

Getting better all the time folks.

We now have picks 22, 44, 46 and after that with rookie upgrades and a pass by GWS just before us, our other two picks we are likely to use are effectively now four picks higher like having picks 59 & 60. Looking ok in what is touted as a deep draft.

The top end of the draft will throw up some sliders with GWS having the top three plus 12 & 14, Bulldogs having 5, 6 & 21 and with Adelaide's strange withdrawl, Collingwood now have 18, 19 & 20.

Could be a couple of surprise players still available for us at 22 that we expected to go much earlier.

Must watch TV tomorrow night now!

Their legal teams will have been in discussion prior to the hearing on the 30th November, reckon this is a bitof plea bargaining going on. Adelaide will take the hit this year not next year when their picks wiould have been much higher and for the AFL it allows it to close the books on this sad affair this year without it being raised again at draft time next year.

Helps us in the draft, now only need to get Tippett :-)

i actually cant believe they offered what they felt was a fair penalty !

                    Are they for real ?

The AFL must be seriously thinking are u guys still trying to make up the rules ?

I think it is arrogant and demonstrates further evidence of a club that thinks they are above the law !

Smart move by Adelaide trying to minimise the damage with the likely loss of draft picks in an upcoming penalty. Watch this space, they'll still likely lose early draft picks for 2013 and probably 2014....along with a fine.
Also, interestingly, its also being reported that the AFL have dropped a few charges laid...not sure what charges but I'm hoping a charge or two on Tippet.

I would think the hand of the AFL is behind this announcement anyway....

The AFL have said they'll take Adelaide's gesture into account when deciding on a penalty and it'll work in Adelaide's favour.

Agree wouldnt be suprised if this was a "suggestion" by AFL.

Non argument Adrian Anderson has already said it is a good move and will be taken into consideration when penalties are 'possibly' considered.

Afl are now in trouble, they have opened a can of worms they don't want open. Crows will take their medicine, KT will get what he wants.
