In any event the bulk of those suggested so far are list cloggers and wouldn't add anything to our current list aside from helping out in Canberra. I couldn't make a case for any of those listed getting a spot ahead of the current premiership 22 or those that missed out (McGlynn, Rohan, Everitt, White, Armstrong).

So basically they would not be in our top 27 players and that's not taking into account our recent draftees who may take the next step (Mitchell, Lamb, Cunningham).

Generally when we have recycled we have done so to address a specific weakness, e.g. Morton to add class to the forward line, currently our list is very even and versatile giving us coverage in every area of the ground.

I've been wrong before but I suspect we'll be loading up on the next generation of youngsters in the upcoming drafts.
I agree caj23. I'd expect we'll be looking for KPP and potential half back flanker types, considering that we have Mal, Mattner, Shaw not getting any younger and only really Armstrong that at this stage is a certainty to come into the top 22 if he progresses as we hope.

i wouldnt underestimate how quickly Starling could adapt to a second ruck role where the rules are no wrestling for the ruck players........he could be playing seniors within 18months to two years !

the guy could kill it as he looked already comfortable enough with the Roos footage just kicking the ball

Didnt Mike play after two pre seasons only ?

He's a bit younger than Morton, but older than Meredith.
Seems he was another victim of "The Hammer's" soft tissue epidemic.
Only problem with Kyle Reimers is he is no good.

            He's got some admirable qualities:

He's hard to stop, even when under enormous pressure.

He perseveres. His second, third, fourth .... efforts are remarkable.

Even when the game is over, he continues trying to score.

I'd take him, just to keep a close eye on Tippett.

Lol. Good point. He never quits, harasses, doesn't listen when told its over and he should give up. Great traits, on the footy field at least! ha!

I would welcome him with open arms. I have not heard about a long history of off-feild trouble so he is probably a scorned lover, hence the breach of the intervention order. A move to Sydney might be just the tonic.

He wouldn't get a game with us. ( seriously, who gets dropped for Gram, he had a stinker of a year, his best footy was 3 years ago) He wouldn't come to sydney to play in the NEAFL.

Some of you may not realise it but free agency means that there is also now a free agency period for delisted players. Previously these players had to go into the national draft or the pre-season draft. The free agency period for these players starts tomorrow and runs until November 13. The full list is available at http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsartic...2/default.aspx

Imagine if someone could get the best out of Liam Jurrah? I'm not suggesting we sign him but wouldn't it be a fairy tale story if he came to Sydney and blossomed as a consistent AFL footballer, a Blood, a proud indigenous man and a role model for (and champion of) his community?
