    High altitude training

Seems to me that the Swans have been very successful without the need for high altitude training makes you wonder if it is ha effective .

I think that's a somewhat simplistic conclusion to make.

In the same way, you could argue that top ten draft picks aren't good players because we've won a premiership without many of them in the side.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Simplidtic maybe but still valid. I reckon send the boys up to
Thredbo but Kosciosko kick the footy around up there for a bit - a lot cheaper than going to the US OF A! Hickimg up there is good exercise too. Flys are annoying though in summer.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I think West Coast won a flag using High training methods.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Added protein to the diet will help with the muscle growth.

I'd dress them up in Austrian gear and make them sing the songs from the "Sound of Music" to add to the atmosphere. You can just hear Rhys saying: But I was Liesel yesterday !!!

The end of training number would be the longest and best rendition as the boys go through "So long, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Goodbye..................."

Well from what I have read it takes a few trips to build up and pay off. But as stated, it has its doubters. And besides running at the dunes (did we even do that last prea-season?) we don't seem to be too radical with our pre-season. I think they take a balanced smart approach which seems to pay off year in year out based on our results.

I spent 4 weeks above 10,000ft in the Himalayas once.I then flew down to a beach in Thailand. The increase in my performance was amazing! What more proof do you need?

I did something similar to this and when I came down I had the ability to speak 4 languages. Sadly none of them were English....

The new trend will be training in hot conditions - (apparantly get the body used to extreme conditioning) rather than altitude, many Euro soccer clubs are doing this now.
I think I read either Power or crows will be undertaking this pre season using the "hot? " Method.

Once you reach the dizzy Hgts of a GF win you will regard the hype of Altitude training is a lot of thin air.

                          Cheers

I can see the relationship between Him-a-laya's and a beach in Thailand.
