    TLM Countdown 2012, Qualifying Final

Qualifying Final: Sydney Swans (71) def Adelaide Crows (42), AS

Crows. In Adelaide. Not a happy hunting ground or team. Reid and Smith are back, and Morton cops a lucky break by being a late change for the unlucky Tommy Walsh.
Grundy is out with a one week suspension.
The swans are fierce at the ball and competition, but struggle to put the points on the board. Crows fair a bit worse. Swans lead by a mere 5 points at quarter time. The ball is finding Goodes with ease. 2 goals to start his finals campaign, Firstly running on to a loose ball in front of Mullet Walker, and then playing in front to Mark a ROK snap from a centre bounce. The hard work continues and with goals to McGlynn, Reid, Morton, Jetta and Goodes again.
McGlynn's was a result of a Goodes tackle causing the turnover, where Kennedy intercepted gave the ball to McVeigh who handballed to McGlynn who ran into the open space in front of goal. Next was a Super Ted incercept, some patient work passing the ball around until the Reid marked in front of goal. Morton's goal was from a set shot straight in front of goal, just inside 50 after accepting a pass from Goodes. AQfter a couple of exciting false starts from Jetta, he finally nailed one, after guess who? Goodes put the ball into an empty Forward 50 for Jetta to sprint onto. That man Goodes got the last one of the quarter after again playing in front and getting the short ball. Swans now lead by 25 points after the Crows could only manage 1 more goal.
20 minutes of intense goalless footy after the crows lifterd. The crows had their chances bu couldn't kick straight. A highlight was the race between the speedsters Dangerfied and Jetta, which Jetta won chasing him down and winning the free for the tackle. a lowlight was McGlynn limping from the field.
When the Crows finally borke the goal drought the swans replied immediately through Morton after a strong grab in fornt of 2 opponents. Swans by 24 at the last break.
Johncock got the first goal but a quick snap from the Sub Parker to answer the challenge. Another goal to the crows and the lead was not insurmountable. 6 minutes later a long ball from Goodes was marked just on 50 by Morton, who handballed to a running Jetta who got his 2nd. Still not a safe lead, but a difficult one to peg back (25 points). Crows were desperate, but most forays into their forward line came straight back out. An innocuous tumble saw Rising Star Talia leave the field with a broken arm. one last goal from Joey and the game was over. 30 point lead with 4 minutes to go. The swans are through to a home Preliminary Final!!

3 goals to Goodes who's form was the best for the year. O'Keefe (37) and Kennedy(35) led the way with the ball and the tackle count 8 and 7 respectively. Throw in Jude with a lazy 7 tackles as well.

Swans by 29. Next is a Home Preliminary Final.

Me too Al. We'd make quite a presentation unit, somehow though I don't think I could quite reflect the contouring going on in your avatar. Mine seems to go out, where hers goes in. sigh.

Apart from Josh's good looks, talent and his legion of female followers, Josh and I could be twins.

            Sorry kiddies.
I've already bagsed being the presentation chickie.
Take a number and wait in line.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
