Agree Towers and Membrey look likely to debut, Marsh and Dick look longer term developments.

Reading about them in the draft thumbnails in Inside Football, it looks like we've stuck to "the policy"

East Freo CEO on Marsh "Harrison's a very determined kid and top order in terms of his character ....... just an honest performer who gives it everything"

Nick Stevens Power coach on Membrey "we always knew what a quality type of player and person he is ....."

Calder Cannons manager on Dick "he is a great kid who works really hard"

Just thinking of the type of side we could have by 2014/15 with Jetta, Rohan, Towers and Dick all in the side. That is serious run to compliment the serious insiders we have!

I was sort of hoping for one KPP, or someone who may develop into an A. Goodes type player. Maybe Gary R. will in time be our replacement AG but in a very different way. However getting players with speed and size fits in with the way the game is going.

Good to see that Membrey looks to have a bit of grunt. Apart from Mummy and Goodes sometimes, we don't have many players with a 'don't mess with me' attitude. AJ shows a bit and did anyone else notice LRT in the GF - dishing out the bumps and shoves, even standing over a player at one stage and not letting him get up! I thought 'wow' LRT is that really you.

              That seems a little premature

Good sense, but I would suggest there is an area where there is similar and greater urgency.

Three years ago we identified we had a problem with speed. We only had Goodes and Shaw with genuine pace. We added Jetta and Rohan. Giving us a speed makeover. After we lost Gary, we were outrun by Richmond and StKilda but still won the flag To my mind this suggests we need 4 not 3 players with genuine speed.

I am mindful that two of these four very fast senior players will turn 32 and 33 next year. I think we will need to find at least two replacements fairly quickly, hence my suggestion we might consider a player that has already been at a club.

We were all expecting us to leave a slot for DirtyKurt but was anyone else surprised we left 3 slots? I wonder what Kinnear is up to?

More likely that we're looking for a greater number of rookies than senior listed players and this balance could be related to the salary cap and how much we've agreed to pay Tippett.

We are really deep in the HBF type now with 3 of our 4 picks primarily playing that role. And we already have Lockyer, Brown, Armstrong, Cunningham and Biggs being groomed for defender/flanker roles. Some of these guys will have to move a bit closer to goal.

I think we've done well and have built a team of great depth. We have gone from a blue collar team to a speedy, skillful team in such a short time. Great credit to the football operations people.

That's what I was thinking too, I will be a major accounting pain in the bum if we don't get DK

I think some of the guys we picked are not rated as super skillful.

That said, we needed to be ready to rebuild our defense so top marks there.

All 4 look like they can play and appear to have been selected for a particular role as is our style of recruiting. Lets hope they can stand up to the tough pre season and they are not already carrying injuries.

Cunningham and Biggs are wingers or have played there most of the resies season. Harry and Shane both did some work inside the centre square but not much. But you are right Biggs was drafted as an half back but I don't think they see him in that role anymore. Harry was made to play there to improve his defensive game but he was released to the wing. Towers is an outside mid not a flanker, again he was played there by his coach to improve his defensive game according to the article I read. Dick and Marsh are both defenders but Membrey is a lead up forward. We are improving our stock of running players you are right, as three of these blokes are quick and Membrey who clocked 3 secs for the 20 metre sprint at the Draft Combine is no slouch either. Another thing they all seem to have i common is they are all pretty skilled.
