I love the continued focus on looking at skilled, quick players to add to our brilliant inside playing roster. If the reports about AD letting slip at the draft what is coming in terms of capping rotations are correct, the whole game style may change again in the next 2 years and the speedy running players with good kicks will be very valuable.Cunningham and Biggs are wingers or have played there most of the resies season. Harry and Shane both did some work inside the centre square but not much. But you are right Biggs was drafted as an half back but I don't think they see him in that role anymore. Harry was made to play there to improve his defensive game but he was released to the wing. Towers is an outside mid not a flanker, again he was played there by his coach to improve his defensive game according to the article I read. Dick and Marsh are both defenders but Membrey is a lead up forward. We are improving our stock of running players you are right, as three of these blokes are quick and Membrey who clocked 3 secs for the 20 metre sprint at the Draft Combine is no slouch either. Another thing they all seem to have i common is they are all pretty skilled.

I thought ROK was an elite school age runner to begin, similar to Hannebery?
Probably expect 1 of these kids to make it and be competitive. Future is in their hands. Mal's career has been peppered with injury and fluctuating form. Reasonable to expect that to continue. I don't think his position in the 22 is a lock-in.
Shaw/ROK/Bolton/Goodes/Mattner/LRT/Ted retirements are all in the near term so lots of opportunity for all the kids on our list.
I'm looking forward to seeing if our 2011 draftees who haven't done much due to injury start to show a bit.
Membrey is the most intriguing. I hope he is Parker-like.Comment

I remember seeing him prowl around the goal square looking like a brick with legs in the ressies. Even at that early stage his concentration on what was happening at all points of the ground was impressive. So I would say you are right. He was in "guard" mode rather than leading up.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Membrey will grow into Fevola size. He's almost there now. Hope the personality doesn't come with it.
Towers, with his leap, could almost play a KPD, certainly a 3rd tall defender not beyond him. Remember that he broke the vertical leap record in Combine.
When I first saw the picture I thought Mathew Dick was Harry Cunningham. They look a bit alike.Comment

If the Fevola personality came out in Tim he would be on the market after 1 year. Problem with Fevola was Carlton let him do what he wanted. They knew right away what he was like. Moved him from Narree Warren away from his mates after he had a night in the lock up. Then put him in a unit in the city somewhere with a couple of players of his own ilk. Went nuts.Membrey will grow into Fevola size. He's almost there now. Hope the personality doesn't come with it.

Membrey will be just fine. He is still a kid so will still be growing into that body. And, for those who care, I like his smile. His interview indicates he is no Fevola clone.Membrey will grow into Fevola size. He's almost there now. Hope the personality doesn't come with it.

He and Towers seem to have the arms already, the other two kids will have to catch up, and yes I can see why you would think Dick looked like Cunningham (oh such unfortunate surnames) Luddy. Except young Harry still looks like he has just come in from the milking. If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Just joking about the Fev thing. But the body size is there. I don't think there's any connection with body and brain.Membrey will be just fine. He is still a kid so will still be growing into that body. And, for those who care, I like his smile. His interview indicates he is no Fevola clone.

Dick used to be in the swear filter not too many years ago, so he would have been known as Matthew @@@@. Which would have been awkward.
I'm sure he's had plenty of grief over his name.Comment
