All our wishes come true?
Pre draft there lots of love on this board for Brandon Jack, Xavier Richards & Naismith as the project ruckman, the Swans recruiters took our advice and drafted all three - woohoo
Oh, and we got Tippett for free in the PSD
Seems like early Xmas to me, just need them to all work out for me to believe in Father Xmas.
Primmy, a little dance going on at your place with these selections?Comment

Really pleased we drafted all three. Naismith has done everything Lambert asks him to do and is a good kid. Richards has taken the best forwards in the SANFL and beaten them. Jack is a potential star Mid. I think we have picked winners all round. Next year with retirements and even if we get injuries our depth is really good. Welcome all the boys and my prediction came true, Kurt was too rich for every other club.Comment

New South Wales scholarship holder Daniel Robinson has been added to the Swans? rookie list for 2013.
Robinson, who is preparing for his Year 12 exams, told sydneyswans.com.au that it was a dream come true to land a spot on the Swans? rookie list.??
?It?s amazing and it?s really exciting,? Robinson said.??
?I?ve been here for the last three years on a NSW Scholarship and it?s ended up more than perfectly.??
?I?m looking forward to playing and training in a professional environment and just focusing on footy rather than having to balance everything, so it will be exciting.???
Beatson said Robinson was one of the standout performers in this year?s state championships.??
?Daniel was one of the better players for the NSW/ACT RAMS during the under-18 competition and impressed us as an inside midfielder.???
As Robinson is a scholarship player, he can be rookie-listed without going through the rookie draft."be tough, only when it gets tough"

Sydney extended the family links of two players, by recruiting Xavier Richards, the brother of Ted, and Brandon Jack, the brother of Kieran.

Happy to see this.
Also happy to see Brett Goodes get a go at the dogs... picked up at 28 - whoda thought?Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

Here's the link to the Seaby story. He's back to the west coast, not the West Coast.

The drafting criteria seems to have dramatically changed this year. Obviously, a lot more research has been done on player characteristics other than talent alone. There have been so many surprises in both drafts this year. Lots of mature agers, where more is known about the player. Paul Roos often spoke about the lottery of drafting 18 year olds. A lot of risk has gone out of the drafts this year.
We must have had Jake Lloyd on our radar for some time, as his name has never come up in any discussion anywhere. You would have to think that there is something pretty good about him to land a spot with us given the depth of talent we have. Look forward to hearing from Beatson or Longmire on the decision.
There were a few very highly rated players without known 'issues' ala Dayle Garlett, that didn't get picked up. Yet so many unknowns that did.
I think we did very well this year, as did Collingwood. The 2 big winners in this post-season IMO.Comment
