He'll probably hang around even if he doesn't get a game. He'd be making more money here than back home being a plumber or something. No disrespect to plumbers mean't.

You mustn't have had a blocked toilet or a busted tap lately

Will be interesting to see where he sits in the pecking order in 2013 - hopefully we will seem some more development from Tommy but he will still be one of the depth players (dreaded term) next year I reckon....

It may be dreaded, but it is realistic. We have a list with far more players than you would want to play seniors in a year, so tha is where the rest of them are situated....as depth players.

Sean White and Marty Clark seem to have made a pretty good fist of it too. there is a case in point, Sean White started out as a flashy high marking forward and ended up as a solid FB. Maybe Tommy will end up going the same way especially as the resting ruckman/forward is back to stay with the Sub Rule. I have been saying for some time he would end up a backman, he played on a few real talls in the Two's a couple of times and did quite well. Kept one of the top guys goalless if I remember rightly.

He was a reserve for the GF and was a chance to play with mummy's injury wasn't he? The coaching staff obviously think he must be able to make it since he was so close.

Definitely not making more than plumber...he's not on $150K is he? They charge $125 an hour including for travel, smoko and scratching their arse.

This. He just looked too strong, too mobile and too good a mark in that International Rules games to just peter out without a whimper. I know it is a made up game with his natural pill, but the outrunning, outmuscling and outmarking against some of the better players in the AFL was still real. He can do it if we keep it simple for him and that means backline. Shame is, I think both his and Jesse's future lie in the backline and clearly only one of them will make it (unless disater befalls AJ.....heaven forbid).

Tommy can make it in the backline

if we get tippett there is no doubt he will make the transition with the coaches !
