    Kinnear Beatson - Thankyou!

Premiership teams are as strong off field as they are on. A key driver of the Swans success in recent years has been Kinnear Beatson our Player Acquisition Manager. Gaining Kurt Tippet on a two-year deal for no loss of players or draft picks owes a great deal to the smarts of Beatson and his team including Stewart Maxfield and now consultant, Ricky Barham. Prior to joining the Swans, Beatson worked on a part-time basis for the Crows. Previously he worked for Brisbane for 12 years and can take some credit for the golden years enjoyed by the Lions.

That Sydney now has played in three GFs since 2005, winning two, and now finds itself with arguably our best playing list ever owes much to these guys. But credit is due to Kinnear Beatson. Swans supporters owe you a hearty pat on the back.

I hope they make a movie about him whilst Clint Eastwood is still alive.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

      Kinnear Beatson - Thankyou!

Wholeheartedly agree. Let's trust The Powers That Be that have delivered an outstanding finals record for the past decade, 3 GF appearances and 2 GF wins have been working hard to maintain our competitiveness. This doesn't mean we can't criticise (even though that won't have ANY effect) but the club has done superb so far.

The man is a genius but the thing that impresses me is the people who he hires as talent scouts. They are the best. Our part time and full time scouts are super. The picks in the last four drafts have been sensational especially the last three. While some of the players are no longer with us, as in TDL, they played some pretty good footy for us. But the last four drafts produced; Jetts, Parker, AJ, Hannas, Armstrong, Everitt (I think he will be good), Kennedy, McGlinn, Morton, Mumford, Seaby, Pyke, Reid and Rohan. Add to them Lamb and Mitchell both potential stars and big Tommy who has potential as big guys often develop later.

We now have Tippett and all the new boys as well as some pretty impressive talent already running around in the Two's in Lockyer, Brown, Cunningham and Biggs. Add all the players here before the last four drafts and we have the potential to be the super team of the 2010's. If our players stick together and we can manage to put together legitimate secondary deals for them we will keep most of them for a long time. There will be the occasional player who doesn't make it but that is unfortunate but life.

It's quite amazing that we won a Premiership and I feel we are still moving up. Very confident that we will have a top ranked team for many years to come. Great list. No fears about some of our great aging stars heading off into the sunset. Congrats to Kinnear and the rest of the crew.

Sounds like you are officially calling it a dynasty.

A bit early for that but the grounding is there. I thought we were heading for a 2013 Premiership in 2011 but I was more unsure of the coaches ability to deliver than the players. I was not expecting a 2012 Premiership, this is a year earlier than even the most ardent Swan supporter would have predicted. I believe we are even stronger in our 2013 line up, given Tippett and our recruiting, than last year. But the proof in the pudding is turning all the talent into a Premiership or a few of them.

Geez, I agree Beatson has done a sterling job but some of us may be getting a bit ahead of ourselves. Call it a dynasty after we have won 3-4 in a row.

The D word should be banned from this site. The Hawks were going to win 6 in a row after 08 and they've won exactly donuts since.
