    Proudly Sydney

Interested to get peoples thoughts on the new Swans slogan - "Proudly Sydney". A bit at odds with "Two cities, one team."

    In reaction to GWS?
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

I don't mind it. I am a Sydney-based Sydney Swans supporter and I guess it's primary goal is to re-emphasise that we are "Sydney's Team". Doesn't look like Sydney Swans are gonna share this town lol. And I guess even Melbourne-based supporters would still call the team Sydney Swans? Just Swans? Bloods?

I'm all for it. We are a Sydney team, although we respect and embrace our Melbourne history. I'm proudly Sydney and I'm glad my club is, too.

My first thought was the slogan was pretty silly but it does make sense, due to gws and that most of
the temporary membership boost after winning the cup would likely be from Sydney. They sure are placing alot of faith in
the south crew to stick around though.

The barnacles are stuck fast I think you'll find mate. It would take a bit more than a slogan...

In any case I interpreted Proudly Sydney to be more in reference to members being proud of being part of Sydney the football club, rather than Sydney the city....

Exactly how I read it too. We all support the Sydney Swans and the slogan is an affirmation of that.

I'm an Adelaide based supporter but I'm Proudly Sydney! Got old South Melbourne friends in Victoria who are also Proudly Sydney. The heritage was mentioned on the great day in September.

The slogan is definitely aimed at GWS at a time of glory for the SYDNEY Swans. Incredible timing to win the flag in the inaugural year for GWS. Makes a big statement and the slogan is just backing up that achievement.

                Given the blues had
                'they know we're coming"

maybe we should have opted for
                "we came"

Given that we came first, I'd suggest that works a bit too well for some of us...

That Carlton slogan did smack of premature elation didn't it.
