    Swans DVDs

I'm sure most of us ... if not all of us ... have have the '05 & '12 Premierships on DVD.

Wondering what other awesome Swans games others have on DVD to re-live magic Swans moments?

Name a game had a special a few years ago so I bought a few

05 vs bombers. We were 2-4 under the pump and questions were circling over skipper Maxfield's circumstances. Nick Davis pulls a hammy in literally the first minute...but somehow we storm home in the last to pip the bummers

05 vs collingwood. 1 point win famous for the timekeeping 'scandal'. Also the last time we beat the pies before this year's prelim

2000 (I think) v crows. First time we beat Adelaide in yonks with Jason Ball kicking a bag

There's at least one more but I can't recall it at the moment

          This. How uncanny is that.

Also have the 1996 Preliminary final, but not the Granny. I refuse to watch loses.

Also a DVD of season 1996 highlights and the 2005 season also

Ah, I remember that one. It was the year before I became a member, we decided to go at the last minute, rocked up late and by that stage in the season the bandwagon had well and truly jumped on, so the GA queues outside the ground were massive, and as a result didn't get in till half way through the first quarter. It was a good day though, MO'L kicked a bag and was on fire, we jumped the Eagles early who had been flying (that was the year a Chris Judd-inspired West Coast smashed the then-dominant Lions at the Gabba I think), they came back late but we hung on for the win.

I've got the 2003 season highlights DVD which I pull out occasionally, was a special season. I miss Schneids

v Carlton at Optus Oval, round 13 96. A special win for the Melbourne based fans. If you can get a hold of it watch the celebrations in the stands after the siren.

My first ever game live at the ground that day. I'd follow the swans for a long time before that, but as I had just turned 18 and acquired my first car, that was my first big road trip to Sydney from bathurst. Been hooked on going to games ever since

2003 QF vs Port in SA. Decided not to fly over so watched it with friends and think it was the beginning of the "give your all" Swans that Maxfield created. It's worth it just to watch Goodes dominate and when he kicked a rushed behind from about 40 metres out the "he's kicking goals at both ends!" commentary.

i have the 1987 games at scg where swans defeated the eagles, and kicked 200 points, then the following week, defeated the bombers and kicked 236 points, the following week, they played richmond at scg, and were trying to kick 200 points for the 3rd time in a row, they came up short by 2 points, kicking 198 points, i would love a copy of this game if anyone has one.
Also have the second half of r1 1983 where the swans beat essendon by 1 point at scg with quite a few injuries.

i am always on the lookout for more games from say 1982-1992, if anyone thinks they may have something, i would love to hear from you.

                        cheers

What a day that was. I was only a young kid at the time and Princes Park at that stage, was virtually a construction site. Kelly and Kouta played absolute blinders.

I've watched the replay many times and I reckon it's about the best game of footy I've seen. Carlton had won a ridiculous number of games in a row at Carlton.

We were a group of about 10 guys on the annual trip to Melb. to watch the Swannies and someone had a connection and we scored tix in the Social club. We were loud and proud (not in the context of the other thread I may stress) and in the end were lucky to get out of the joint without getting into an almighty barney...lol

As it turns out DoctorJ and his brother were also in the same spot, although we never met until the 'internet' joined us some 5 years later and we often talk of that game.

One of the great games for sure with Craig O'B kicking a bag. Paul Kelly was sublime, as was Kouta, yet Fraser Brown got the 3 brownlow votes. Go figure...lol

                              1. North Melbourne v Swans, 1996, don't know the name of the ground, Plugger actually grinned! Big win, Lots of Melbourne Swans in the crowd, Dunks towelled up Carey.
                              2. Swans v West Coast, round 22 1996, (last h@a game anyway) SCG in the monster rain storm, the first time the Syyyddnneeyyyy chant went up, and its never been bettered, lifted the hairs on your neck.
                              3. Swans v North Melbourne again, 1999, SCG, After The Hail, Kelly pinballed his way to goal, Stuey for the first time I ever saw did a muscle man stance after kicking a goal, divets in the ground after the hail, he had lost half his house in the storm.
                              4. Port v Swans, AAMI, PF 2003. One of the best games I have seen, and never knew you could do a mexican wave in a tiny lounge room with 5 people, or an airoplane around the courtyard to celebrate the unreal feeling of that game. Two years later we win the granny, but without so many of the players in that game. - Cressa, Seymour, Scotty, Fuse, Nicks, and I think 3 others.
                              5. Personal favourite, probably 1997 or 98, against Collingwood, and Plugger had a field day (night) on a non existent knee. First game for Crouch. (note to self, haven't watched that one for a while now, hunt it out).
                              6. And I remember the Carlton game when Obee kicked a bag because plugger was out; he just span on a dime that day.
                              7. Not sure of the year, but the Brisbane game with Roosy on 350 games; Plugger on fire, Nicksy almost being splattered and someone in the crowd yelling "get him a shovel". Good game.
