This may be a daft question, but how do I find out when training is on (the sessions the supporters can view of course)?

Call the Sydney Swans Office on (02) 9339 9123 in advance to confirm times.

            Thanks Roy

I am about to explode.........I cant believe the depth we have ended up with at the club for 2013 - it is truly mind boggling.

We have some serious athletes who could become senior players in the next season or two

Roy - How did Towers and Rampe look?

no doubt Lambie is the wild card but he is has so much pressure on him now with the Rookies.........I just wonder whether Lambie can take that next step.......he reminds me of a Dale Thomas but dale is a step above at the same age

Jack, Rampe, Towers, Lloyd, Cunningham etc etc it is nuts what these kids could do in the future after another pre season or two

Morton will place serious pressure on the 22 also and he really does play alot taller then I realised for his height.......he is a great target and he chases hard the last part of the season

No to mention Rohan could by July actually be ready again ?

Thanks aardvark. I'm doing the stay-at-home Dad thing these holidays so I'd like to take the kids in one day.

There is an interview with Matt Cameron on the Swans site. Mattner, smith, Goodes & Rohan are on modified programs. No mention of Mitchell

So either he has fully recovered :-) or he is so bad that he's not even on a modified program :-(

We need a report from someone who is having a look at training - guys???

I too think that Parks and Mitchell will most likely take over ROK and Judes roles in the near future

my guess as this stage is Rok may have a few more years left in him.......he looks stronger then ever

I think his role is so simple these days and he executes it. I do not like his role of pick it up and kick it forward but these days we need some predictability for our players to flood forward on and the role he has has worked well for the team. His defence and intensity to win the ball has been an evolution that he should be proud of. He has evolved from a strong leading small forward to quite a dominant midfielder

But I wouldnt be surprised to see Macca move into one the roles that ROK or Jude plays as we have some flank depth now and with Lambie, Rohan, Cunnigham and others pushing for flank possies a couple of our guys who have played with my outside space may be asked to move closer to the action as their leg speed is no where near some of the young guys placing pressure to squeeze into the 22
I think the problem with the pick it up and bang it forward game is that we had no stay at home FF. With Tippett due to come into the side sometime after round 12 this will change. The idea is to get the ball in quickly and create a one out situation and with a stay at home FF we can do that. The problem i the past has been that we haven't had a stay at home FF since Bazz & Mickey rotated the role and we bomb the ball in only to see it marked by a defender. The players up field often don't lift the eyes just expecting a player to be there (probably part of the plan) but with no specialist FF this often doesn't happen. I believe even before Tippett this will change and we will have a Speciaist Forward to fill this role even if it is Mitch or Membrey who are not taslls but medium forwards.

The pre-season injury update which is very current does not mention Tom at all. that usually means he is out on the track and ready to go. If he were injured there would normally be mention of this fact in the report. I can't see the report not mentioning him as he is a star recruit and they know if there are problems the fans would want to know. All injuries normally get a mention in the pre-season report. It looks like we have a pretty healthy bunch except for goodsie (running), Gazza (running), Marty (treadmill), smithy (treadmill). Teddy is training with the main bunch according to the report.

There is chat of some sort of tendonitis, but this was just from spectators like me..mention made of similar knee problem to MOL, and we seemed to manage that one ok. But I have to say that is not from any club source as far as i know.

He ran without effort or limp, but dis point to his knee a few times when talking to officials after.

Methinks the talk of bringing him along slowly and steadily may be spot on!
I must say that the management of a stay at home full forward is likely to be quite different to the management of a ball winning midfielder - there was a reason m o'l ceased playing half forward flanker as his career went on and it wasnt just that he got bigger.

still at least we have the depth to cover this presently. it might be a long time before we see him in the ones

yes the reason was Eade insisted on playing him while injured and he then carried niggles for the rest of his career. Mitchell is doing laps according to the Swans site. He did the same last year. I am hoping he can get fit earlier this year because he wasn't ready by the NAB Cup last year. If he can be ready by NAB it would be good but that would mean he would have to start training with the main group soon.
