Does anybody know if there will be any kind of club/players function after the game in Hobart? We have a huge supporter base down here!

I bought tickets through Ticketek a week or so ago. There was a link in an email from the club.

I bought tickets a few weeks ago as well but I didn't get anything from the club with a link and had to ring the club to ask. I wanted 3 tickets and although it was the first day they went on sale to non kangaroo members and before the swans tickets went on sale I could not get 3 seats together. Seats went pretty quickly as the ground is small.

Looks like general admin only left. Had my flights and accommodation booked since the game was confirmed - forgot about the tickets. I'll give the club a call on Monday and see if they have any advice.

Good luck because when I rang the club before I bought mine and before the swans allocated tickets went on sale they said that as it was not a home game they were only allocated a few. The GA tickets want on sale the day before the swans allocated seats were available to club members and I was advised to buy them fom the GA allocated tickets as they could not guarantee they would have any available. That was around 4th March. I thought the general availability of tickets was very poor. Seemed to be a lot allocated to corporates and Tas cricket members and of course as would be expected north Melbourne members.

I've just bought a GA ticket. There seem to be very few reserved seating areas available to the public so it's not surprising it sold out so quickly. The GA location looks decent - ie taking up most of a wing - and there looks to be a sizeable dry area, which suits me just fine. I never quite understand people who go to a live sporting event and spend most of their time getting up to get yet another round of beers.

It's the whole standing thing in the GA areas of these grounds I can't handle, my guests and I are unable to stand for lengthy periods of time and that is what most GA areas are in the Tasmanian grounds.

An interesting read speaking of standing, general admin and dry areas: http://www.think-tasmania.com/kangaroos/

Nevertheless, I think I will go a dry area ticket and hope my weary legs get to rest. Wonder if there was any room with the cheer squad ?

Was an interesting read, but as a former Tasmanian now living in Sydney I know AFL is well and truly entrenched in Tasmania more so than western sydney. My question is if the hawks can play 4 games there and Kangaroos 3 thn why not have a Tasmanian team? I know it's the corporate sponsorship availability but the Tas government is spending a fortune on it.

Yes, there has to be a Tasmanian team sooner or later. The big question is, which Vic team will fold their tent and make the trip over Bass Strait? Probably ought to be Melbourne, turn the Demons into Devils.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
