John Lonhmire was interviewed on SEN this morning.
It was a pretty good length interview. Some of the things I can recall are:
Rohan is a long way off. He is doing plenty of running but he could not or wouldn't give a date when he thought he would play. Said with leg breaks it was a long process to get back to playing and they would not take any chances. Has had encouragement from Michael Barlow and Michael Voss and they gave him some sound advice and it sounded like he was still in touch with them.
Goodes will join in skill work this week I think. When questioned about his future he said something like: "well he just turned 33 so at this stage he will play up forward. When Tippett plays we are looking at Reid and Tippett taking the pressure off him".
They gave Kinnear Beatson at big rap on the recruiting front and Longmire said they were hoping that Lamb and Lockyer can step up this year. Also said Jetta has had a better pre season than last. Liam Pickering said something like how much can he improve, and Longmire said he did kick 45 goals last year so if he does that again he would be rapt.
Bolton is doing all the pre season work as is Richards but Smith is still on a modified program after a minor knee cleanout. Apart from Smith, Goodes and Mattner (bit of hip but didn't sound concerned) the squad is training strongly. No mention of Mitchell.
Thinks the batch of draftees are good.
