Have we won MORE premierships than NAB cup games in the last 10 years?

2 premierships since 2003. Never won under Roos, and if I recall correctly we won one game last year under longmire??

2 premierships. 1 Nab cup win.

Good to know we have our priorities straight

It's not called the "Who gives a @@@@" cup around my place for nothing. Only the crappy clubs desperate for any type of win target these glorified trials.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I call it the practice match cup. That's all it is.

I know we have generally played the NAB Cup with disinterest, but yesterday has to be the most disinterested I've ever seen us. A training run and no injuries is clearly all the club wanted.

I don't remember us ever doing particularly well in the pre-season competition. However, we did win (the then) night series in 1982. How many of you were there or remember that?

Did you know South Melbourne/Sydney Swans has won the 5th most games in the history of the game?

I remember watching it on TV ... & now watch it once a year on DVD.

We also lost the '84 night GF against Essendon

True, but in those days I think the competing teams were those that weren't playing in the finals. Except '57 ... we won that year when all 12 teams played. Also, I reckon the games were played at Lakeside (our home ground).

This is true, i think it was because we had good lighting. I wonder if all the other clubs whinged about us always having the home ground advantage?

They probably complained about our Cost Of Lighting allowance.
