I have always been a soccer fan but only went to my 1st A-League game this year. I have very strong tribal connections to Sydney and as I am of Italian heritage, I wanted to see Alessandro DP play. Sydney FC were coming to town and I had th opportunity to take a mate's MV membership as he was out of town.

I have to say, the atmosphere was awesome and I will be going again when SFC come to Melbourne. The onfield stuff doesn't hold a candle to the indigenous Australian code for excitement, bravado and continuity but the overall experience was fantastic. I suggest all should go and have a look.

It's an attitude also shared by many league fans as well. And by many AFL fans too I must say....

Also applies to many AFL supporters here in Victoria too!!!

I cant understand how some people think, well here in Victoria anyway, that if you love AFL you have to hate the A-League or the NRL!

The A-league is a brilliant competition to follow in the summer months, certainly helps with the AFL withdrawal people suffer in the off season.

I'm not a member of the Storm but I attend a few of their games as well.

I'd rather watch the Ethihad Stadium grass growing. Atmosphere might be great but what a boring spectacle.

I don't know what your problem is with Geelong. It used to take me as long to get from the Eastern suburbs in Melbourne to the Lake Oval as it does to get from Melbourne to Geelong. Thousands of people make the commute every day.

For me at the moment it is a lazy 15 dawdle (if the lights are red) to get to the gates of Kardinia Park.

I'm referring too the chance of getting into the game. I'm sure Geelong is a wonderful place and your right its pleasant drive Mornington to Geelong. Jump on the P-link get off on the G- link.
