Seems like both low scoring, and pretty loose defence.

Where did LRT spend his playing time?

In defence. Walsh replaced him after half time

Port aren't terrible and will finish 10-12, they've recruited well, got a new coach which makes them keen to impress. Still not great, but hopefully everything will be ironed out come the start of the season.

Pretty average game. Was windy as hell. Nothing to be either excited or worried about.

Port supporters were taking the game very very seriously!!

Have they ever taken a game with graciously and with good humour???

This preseason seems like just every other for the Swans: it's about racking up playing time rather than wins.

Did Mumford and Everitt play today?

Yes both seemed to play a full game.

Yep, the clue to the Swans approach is in the title of this thread.

Oh my goodness the sky is going to fall in and we will never win another game ever again and pre-season is when premierships are won and we've played so crap this pre-season that we can't possibly do anything in the real season!

We will be slow starters this year I feel, but if we win the first two games as we should then we will be fine. It took us a long time to get going in 2006 and we got within a point of going back to back that year, so no need for the self destruct buttons to be pressed yet.

White was ok. did a couple of nice 1%ers.
                            Walsh wasn't very impressive.
Rampe was very competitive. Didn't look out of place at all.

Went to the game today. Windy as all hell and Port certainly knew more about how to use the ground than us. A lot of our passes went over the target's head, out of bounds or landed on top of the intended target where he got smashed by a pack. Port certainly were out to make an impression. The local paper here said Hinkley had emphasised not being pushed around by the Swans' big bodied mid field. That's the way they played. They looked like they have set themselves to play the premiers. Swans looked like they were playing a practice game interstate against an also-ran". Jedda was going half rat power and with LRT off with a tight calf, Tommy played back with Rampe, Armstrong etc so our backline was a bit understrength. Goodesy played well but was rested for the last quarter. McGlynn looked a bit sharper. Bit worried about Jesse, missed a couple of tackles and got turned inside out a couple of times by big slow moving defenders.

My Best - Goodes, Armstrong, Jack, McVeigh.

Port supporters were ecstatic. Their song blared over the PA and they all sang and clapped along. Players got a standing ovation after the game. Same old AAMI stadium. Only the members side open so about 6 thousand there at a guess. A fair few Swans supporters. Parking just like normal - All the members and permit holders carparks about 20% full and yet they won't let you park in there even though the game has started 20 minutes earlier. One hot food stall open so the queue was 50 metres long. By the time I got served I had the choice of a cold hot dog or a colder hot dog. Their merchandise stall had about 2 customers and their new windsheeters have "1870" in big numbers. When are they going to accept that the Port Adelaide Power and the Port Magpies are not the same club??
