Hey Mountain Man, off topic- but how far up are you? I'm up the top.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time -
I am flying out of Sydney Jetstar at 1755 on Friday.

I hope he is not out for too long but I dont think it is a disaster to have a couple of players missing every so often - but losing too many defenders will upset the balance - johnson is bad, shaw adds to that significantly, particularly given that north boast a reasonable forward line with petrie and a few of the smalls.Comment

Surely they'd bring in Armstrong to fill in for Shaw.
Don't they both play the running out of defence role?
Also I think Everitt for Morton would be a fair trade as well. Posters here have said to keep Everitt as he fulfils the role given to him, I think Morton is able to fulfil his role up forward but also add some additional X factor.Comment

The Shaw brothers both have an incredible capacity to run themselves out of trouble. But as we saw in the latter stages of Leo Barry's career, this end can come quickly when you lose that fraction of pace that comes with age. Rhyce has been a fantastic player for us, and hope it stays that way as long as possible, but he is 31 and we shouldn't be surprised to see a drop off in the not too distant future.
As for the comparison of Armstrong and Shaw, they may fill similar roles, but their strengths are different. Tony's strengths are finding space, quickly sizing up the situation and hitting a target, while Shaw's are eluding a tackle, running as far as he can with ball in hand, then kicking it out of bounds.
Despite this, I would still prefer to have Rhyce in the side. I'm leaning to giving Lamb a go at a first game in the green vest.Comment

All supporters walk a tightrope between loyalty to those players that have been the mainstay of the club for a long time and the desire to see some of our exciting young players getting a game. The fact is that you can only have 22 players out there on gameday, and for someone to come in, someone's got to go out.Comment
