Ok, defenders-of-the-faith, calm down a bit.

I think almost every elite sportsperson in the world is pushing the envelope with substances, if they werent they wouldnt be elite. As lance armstrong said, if everyone else is doing it, you need to do it as well to win. Most modern drugs are undetectable now days, as they wash out of the system in a few hours.

Know Im not saying the swans are taking illegal substances, but if you step back and accept that:
      1) At least a few teams are using borderline peptides.
      2) We have been the 2nd most successful team over the last 10 years.
      3) We have a history of making "average" players into stars.

All I'm asking is, Will the drugs scandal ever start to focus on us ?

Really irritating post. No evidence just speculation based on the fact that we are successful. This should stop because you blackening the name of our club with no evidence at all. Please cease and desist.

          Agreed, Swanner.
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

I'm with you. I don't need footy but I'm passionate about the Swans because of the players they seem to be. I was glad when Schneider was moved on because he was leading some of the other players astray. Baz and Nicky D didn't fit the almost-puritan code that the Swans demand so they had to go. If the Swans players take illegal drugs to perform the miracles they do then I don't want to watch - or meet them. If it's proven they do (and that's a long way from wild conjecture in this thread) then I'll cancel my membership.

Are you aware what Demetriou said about the Swans procedures and protocols relating to sports science, after they had investigated every clubs set up?

He said the AFL viewed the Swans set up as second to none in the AFL, and that it should be a benchmark for others to follow...or words to that effect.

That's a ringing endorsement from someone who actually should know.

On the flip side - some Clubs linked to these substances a fews years back were some of the lowly ranked and inconsistent teams at the time and still are now. We have been performing at a consistently high level for over a decade now. I'd like to think its because of the ethically and morally correct plans and structures we have in place.

If anything ever comes to light to implicate anyone connected with the Swans to unethical practices, this topic will be a valid one for discussion. Until that point, it's just unsubstantiated, speculative scuttlebut.
