Armstrong was actually serviceable in the last game, I remember telling myself to stop giving him such a hard time, but yeah Armstrong out Shaw in would be my bet and I would like to get Morto in there as well (probably for Dre, he needs to start finding form soon, he isn't on a 5 year contract!)

Both players play different roles, Armstrong plays a Malceski/Shaw rebounding defender role/run and kick kind of role where Rampe seems to be a more traditional well rounded defender, slotting straight in for AJ.
Comparing them is irrelevant in my opinion

          Totally agree.

            I don't think there's such a thing as a Malceski/Shaw rebounding defender role.

Mal's primary weapon is his kicking, Shaw's is his run.

Like Mal, Armstrong's a kicker. He isn't quick so not a good replacement for Shaw. I suspect the 3 fast halfbacks we recruited in last years draft were in the expectation that one of them could emulate Shaw's run.

Just can't get comfortable with Armstrong...often has that "what do I do now" look in his eyes...and the choices are often appropriately indecisive. On more than one occasion have watched him struggle with a bouncing ball coming toward him...through the legs one time was quite poor & costly...not seeing evidence of consistently good disposal that seems to be implied here. Rampe is not error free yet (fair enough) but seems to have a lot of skill / willingness to tackle / upside compared to TA & Dre...neither of whom show much enthusiasm for for oncoming 50 / 50 collisions / tackles.
