The Swans site has a video of the last outing's highlights. Great viewing, but they somehow forgot to include LRT's great tackle on McPhee.
We will have our work cut out, and I hope we don't get sucked into anything by Ballantyne.
May the umps have a good game!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Those stats are simply irrelevant. The ladder has three distinct groups, the good the indifferent and the bad. We are 0-2 against the good and have had three wins against the bad and struggled mightily but prevailed ultimately against the two indifferent.

I am not in the pessimistic school here but don't quote stats of boys against men games and treat them the same - we are just going at the moment and I hope we have more in the locker because the season could be in real jeopardy unless we get some results in the next three weeks.
Not sure if you got my point. It was about support for Reid and whether I think our forward line is our key problem. The stats are definitely relevant ... You talk about the distinct groups of teams which I agree with. So lets look at how we did against Geelong and Hawks. We lost both but still kicked 17 and 12 goals. 17 definitely enough to win a game and 12 maybe enough in a tight finish. Yet we lost both by being beaten badly in the mids and backline. That's what needs fixing. As I said in my first post, I expect the mids will fix themselves thru a change of attitude. But we have a problem in defence due to half of the back 6 being injured. So worth trying something different to cover the AJ loss - at least until LRT comes back.

I smell a late change coming up, suspect Mumford will not play.

I am getting the same feeling. He was being looked at today for his fitness to play.

On another note we really do miss Lewie. He is a stabilizer in our team. He is Mr Fixit. If we start bleeding he cauterizes the wound. Yes AJ is a big loss but I think Rampe is equipping himself quite well. This week we can't have him sucked in though like last week where he was fed to the Hawks talls. Our experienced players really have to take responsibility this week cos last week they were missing in the responsibility area. If the backs are marshalled by an experienced player or players everything works, when players start just playing their role and don't keep an eye on the big picture it all stuffs up. The leadership group have to lead and last week our back leadership was missing. The mids just got killed. But even that can be stopped with good leadership and decision making.

This week we need to; Shore up the back 6 and make sure it is a cohesive unit
rotate the mids to keep on top of their players. We have to make sure we have the right mix to beat their mix.

Forwards need to work hard and lead up & back.

The team really does need to work harder. Last week there were players who were lazy.

Someone is out because it looks as if Everitt is playing tonight. He's doing the walk of the ground at half time of the reserves. So is mumford.

Interesting. You'd imagine it's a forward since that's where Everitt usually plays

                Reid? mcglynn? Jude ?

You'd reckon if we needed another ruckman White would have played before Everitt.

All of them were hanging around the race with other senior players. Also seen Ted and Reg and Jack, bird, Parker. No sign of ROK or Goodes but that's not unusual. Marty, Jetts and Rampe are all players who have been known to have a wander at that time.

                        My guess is Mattner.

Mattner was limping before and after the game last week

I'm starting to worry about all their small quick forwards...Walters, Pearce, Ballentine....Who's marking all these guys.....Smith on all three perhaps

We are obviously trying to exploit their lack of height....but they'll have for toast in the speed stakes...

We look top heavy for mine...would of loved to of seen Lamb get a full game
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT
