Is this man the most important player on our list?

    ROBERTS-THOMSON Lewis.jpg

Took us up a gear last year in the finals, and ever since he went down against Geelong we haven't looked the same.

Yep, pretty much, he can play forward or back , and there are big deficiencies in both places, get well soon!

I'm thinking most definitely... missing Reecy is costing us as well.
(Not to mention AJ, and tonight, Marty.)

Our backline (at full strength) is the most envied backline in the comp. They are the ones who got us into the granny last year.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

We need them all on the park at the same time for an extended period in order to get us anywhere near another grand final. I remember after the Hawks won their unexpected flag in 2008 people thought it was going to be the start of a period of domination by them, but they couldn't keep their best side on the park for 2009 and most of 2010, and it wasn't until 2011 when they started to look like a contender again. You can't take anything for granted in this game. If we're lucky, we might get another crack at the flag if the stars align, but then again, we might not!

Agree. As soon as he went off against the cats I knew we were gone from there. Also agree on Pyke and would add Hanners, his impact at the moment can't be ignored.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

              Who'd a thunk it.

The two who I thought would be merely token players. Ex Rugby / Rugby League Sydney born and raised types just put into the starting 22 to drum up appeal to the unconverted.

Now, LRT and Jack are absolutely crucial to any premiership defence, and it's been quite obvious with LRT out.

I bet a few games into LRTs comeback, you lot will be calling for his head..

there are few of us who can say we've stuck with LRT through his career, but I am one.

He ain't no superstar, but he's very very handy

The only swan I have bagged mercilessly is ben Matthews.

                    Jesse white > Ben Matthews.

Interestingly I was having this same discussion with a mate today. If you had said this 5 years ago people would have had you looked away. LRT is being sorely missed at the moment.

Generally agree with LRT's value.Personally I think we will be just fine with the addition of Tippet and LRT.
True,we miss Shawand AJ in the backlines but their replacements are pretty good.

And I am another. In a game of inches and small things making a big difference, we are missing him horribly at the moment. I think the problem has been exacerbated by the fact that AJ is out at the same time. They are both Swiss Army Knives and we are now learning the real value of the adaptability and options they both give.

Not in my opinion. He's a loss but a fair way off our most important.

Yes, I think it is getting more obvious by the week just how much we rely on LRT.
