A massive game from the Eski last night. His attack and defense was brilliant. He showed the sort of desperation (100 1%er's?) in defense that we love and when he had the ball in hand he was delivering with great poise and speed.
For a team missing two of it's starting half backs, Shaw and Mattner, the Eski covered both their roles.

Has been exceptional this year, to the point where Hawthorn played a fwd tag on him. His defensive stuff has gone through the roof. He's made the AA 40 man squad twice; he's in the sort of form that could see him there again. Considering where he's come from, amazing effort.

The other I wanted to pump up was Mighty Mouse McGlynn. Attack on the footy and hard running has been top notch. Clearly burning from the GF last year. Even against Hawthorn where we had few winners, he was one of them.

Our pressure and attack on the footy/man last night was as good as I've seen it in a long time in a H and A game.

I was pumping up Mal's tyres years ago, and he hasn't let me down. Its been a pleasure to watch his progress and style. I have even forgiven the beard. Sort of.

He has been good and consistent over the coupla years but last night was exceptional. If Goodesy didn't have such a blinder the Eski would have been BoG (IMO).

Yeah, he was fantastic and has been all year....dare I say it...He's in AA territory.

Another brilliant game from him but don't forget the 2 standins in Everitt and Rampe who both played well disciplined games.

Mal has been an integral part of our backline and general use out of the defensive 50.

We saw it against Hawthorn however that if you mark him for the whole game our style of play coming out of defense is limited, as his kicking reliance and penetration are the forefront of our counter attacking style of football.

Without Shaw off that half back were having to rely on Mal and the better coaches have been tagging. If he's down on input we don't have many other rebounding defenders, Armstrong being the exception.

Definitely something for Horse to think about in Jimmy's opinion.

That's why McVeigh has been down there for the past two weeks. We'd be better with him in the midfield because he uses the ball so well going forward (and kicks goals). But that's one of the advantages of having a pretty deep and even midfield - we can still get the job done (most of the time) with his attention taken elsewhere.

His long, penetrating left foot kicks and his aerial skills were sublime,and to top it off was that wonderful toothless smile Does anybody know if he has any involvement at the Swans these days? Is there an article somewhere telling what he is doing now?
