We will have a few retires over summer, which will free up spots for walsh.
Some tricky decisions ahead

Sadly, it's rare to come back 100% from the serious hamstring injury that Walsh sustained. He's likely to lose a bit of power and speed, which will make his job all the more difficult. It wouldn't be totally surprising if he retired from AFL and returned to Gaelic football.Comment

BTW,Rohan trained the house down last Tue
They simulated match practice for a couple of ten minute sessions.
At one stage he passed the ball by foot from true CHB abt 30 m from goal to a winger.
He took off up the middle of the ground as the ball was chainpassed round the boundary ,and was in position to mark the chain he started at almost FF opposite end.
My biggest fear has been that he may have lost that great pace cos of the injury; NO WAY!
He was as fast as ever, quite breath taking in fact.
Also, it seemed to the naked eye that he may have put an inch or so on in height..he's quite imposing.
But, as the coach said in an interview, it depends how he pulls up after each session..ten minutes of practice is a long way from 100 mins of first grade..I just hope we see him in the twos in a few weeks and maybe, just maybe, the firsts in Aug/Sept.Comment

We shouldn't forget that he will have the pin (really a big nail) removed in December, in a rather ugly procedure involving a lot of hammering, which will keep him out of regular training for about 6 weeks. It seems that that will do it before the XMax break so he doesn't miss too much of the preseason.
But if all goes well, there's a lot to look forward to either the latter of this season or next.Comment
