I always liked John Eales' nickname because it certainly applied to him. It may be time to bestow it once again on a suitable recipient.

The nickname for John Eales was "Nobody" (as in, Nobody's perfect).

I think O'Meara and Whitfield are both eligible this year?

Tommy is very good, and I can see these three being the best 3 in the comp in 5-8 years time.

It's a shame only one will win this year, and our Tommy is disadvantaged by not playing as many games as those guys.

In the 20 year history of the Award, no player has ever won it after coming off a first game as late as Round 10. Indeed, in light of Tommy's Round 11 nomination, only three players (Ben Cousins 1996- Round 12, Justin Koschitzke 2001-Round 14, Daniel Talia 2012-Round 12), won the Rising Star after being nominated that late in a season.
