    Neeld out, Craig in.

Melbourne has sacked coach Mark Neeld just half-way through his three-year contract.

The Demons have called a 10.30am press conference to confirm the long-expected dismissal of the 41-year-old from the club, which ranks only above win-less GWS on the AFL ladder.

The club?s website has reported that former Adelaide coach Neil Craig, its director of sports performance, will be its interim coach for the rest of the season.

    Inevitable.

Where do they go next? There's no shortage of ex-AFL coaches about. Or do they hire a successful assistant?

Will need to have a new board and footy management team in place before they hire a new coach. The whole place needs a cleanout.
The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible news

I am pals with a Dees fan . For a few weeks , we have been thinking up headlines for the inevitable . One was "Not Neelded" but the favourite was ..."KNee(L)d in the Nuts"
      Oh I know it's cruel , but he's about to get 600 grand for 18 months (non-)work.
