    7 Melbourne games.

Funny... I thought that because this was a national competition, it can't be expected to have that many games in Melbourne anymore.

Now I'm confused. Or is it a case of "one rule for Collingwood, one rule for Sydney"?

I like to bag Collingwood as much as the next person, but what specifically have the AFL provided Collingwood that reeks of favouritism. The main thing they are getting is the Friday night games so Ch 9 can show their games.

If the Swans really wanted to get more Melbourne games, they would look closer at the Bulldogs game in Sydney and the 'Roos game in Canberra. Seems to me they have different priorities to the Melbourne supporters.

Yeah Collingwood must be the most underprivileged team in the competition..

Heck, they only play one game in W.A in two years.. that must be a huge disadvantage

Well, most teams only get one game in Perth a year, and Collingwood will, and frequently do, argue they had two in 2001.

I think the point was that they have only ONE game in TWO years in WA! They do not like to travel...
I think we, on the other hand, have played/will play three times at Subie in that time. The point is also, that by the nature of being an interstate team playing in what is for all intents and purposes still the VFL, all Melbourne teams have an advantageous draw when it comes to travel. There are ways around this as Brisbane have demonstrated. But look at it this way, Collingwood have 18 or 19 home games a season, Richmond had 19 this year; sydney have/had 12; Brisbane 12; and 12 each for the Perth and Adelaide teams. Besides meaning that supporters in home towns get to see their team live up to six or seven times fewer than melbourne team fans, the players have to accommodate a sometimes gruelling travel schedule...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Of course not, but they will argue they have played three games there in three years - one game per year, which is addressing the point being made.

Yep, that is the result of 10 Victorian teams and no more than 2 teams in any other state.
