How a smart locker room will help AFL's Sydney Swans

THE "broken window" theory helped clean up New York and the Swans hope sprucing up their locker room will produce similarly positive effects on the playing field.
After looking at dressing rooms in the NBA, NFL and English Premier League the AFL premiers have built dressing rooms any professional athlete would be proud of.

Smelly carpet, small lockers and cramped seating have been replaced by wood panelling, synthetic flooring and plenty of space.

But it hasn't been a case of throwing out everything old for something new with each of the lockers.

Part of the refurbishment includes carrying on the tradition of printing the names and achievements of key players who have worn the guernsey number over the years.

Premiership-winning players have a small cup drawn alongside their names, or two in the case of Adam Goodes, Ryan O'Keefe, Jude Bolton and Lewis Roberts-Thomson.

I like the line up in the photo......A rosey hue surrounds the clubs future.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

I particularly like the three No. 14s.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Is there any room left after "Roberts-Thomson" is followed by two premierships cups?

Probably why they gave the Norm Smith to Judd in 2005, would have saved a fortune in engraving and sign-writing.
