I've never understood why they claim that their flat-based taco shells are an ingenious invention, so much so that we should fork out extra money for them instead of regular taco shells. All taco shells fall the @@@@ apart if you even look at them sideways. They're like North Melbourne.

Compare Freo's run home with ours and we will have to perform well to make the top 4.

Of course I want us to finish top 4, but if we don't, we can win it from outside the 4. We'd need a few of our injured stars back and firing by finals time, but no reason to lose hope of going back to back from 5th....

I actually think the bigger probability is us jumping Essendon. I'm far from convinced of their credentials and wouldn't be shocked if they dropped a sitter or two.

I had to laugh the other week when I was in the car listening to The Run Home on SEN. An Essendon supporter called in and was complaining that nobody has yet mentioned the great improvement in his team in their ability to run out a game. He said that last year their last quarters were pretty poor but this year their fitness, etc has improved markedly. I was alternating between laughing and incredulous that there are Essendon supporters like that who live on another planet... To their credit, Schwartz and Allen both tried to politely point out that maybe that is the reason they are in a lot of legal trouble this year. Either way, it isnt fair that a team is allowed to use a drug that affects the metabolism to create more energy and still be allowed to participate in he finals. Maybe they should lose the points for any game in which they won the last quarter...

if we can't beat the majority of sides we are playing in the run home then we don't deserve to be top 4.

Yeah, I agree, Essendon dropping 3 games is the hope.

Sounds more and more like they are going to get away with their pharmaceutical adventures.

I suspect you're right. Demetrio seems to be prepping the ground for a slap on the wrist - they'd be worried about disenfranchising their massive member base.

On the positive side, their performance against GWS gives me hope that I'm right about their actual skill level.

I think it's looking the other way round. I would be very surprised if they are not totally cooked. John Fahey just said, once more, the WADA code is clear. AOD is banned. If you took it, then you are in violation. Case closed. I cannot see how the team and players can escape sanctions.

I agree. I can't see how the AFL can rule differently to the world governing body. All recognized sporting bodies come under the rules and regulations as set by WADA and its coded supersede any local governing body.

Did the ladder predictor and if Swans win 5 losing against Hawks and Cats we'll probably finish 5th, with a semi against the Bombers, which would be OK.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

If we finish 5th that puts us into an elimination final, doesn't it?

Extra game time for those returning from injury. Just what they'll need.
