I agree, we were lucky, Freo was the slightly better team in my opinion.
There are good draws and bad ones.
The one against Brisbane in 2007 at the Gabba was a bad one. Sydney were the better team, leading by about 20 points at three quarter time. It costs a home final, with the Swans finishing 7th and bowing out to Collingwood in Week 1 at the MCG.
The one against North Melbourne in 2008 when Jesse White became the 19th man was a good draw. We came from the clouds to draw, and I suspect that North was the better side.
The one against Melbourne Round 1 2011 again cost the Swans a home final. However with a victory against St Kilda in Week 1 at Docklands, it did not really matter. It is hard to say who was the better team. However I reason that Horse was a very inexperience coach at that time who wrongly used Mark Seaby as the sub. (This was the first occasion the sub rule was used)
