Bit of a surprise. Good luck to Mitch. I will never forget his role in the 2012 premiership.
Great that he has plans past football and has done the hard yards to make them materialise.Comment

Wow.
I guess there is more to life than footy! I couldn't imagine the mental effort besides physical to play at that level. To have an anxiety issue and still compete would be tremendous. I'm glad he has interests outside of the sport that make him happier or that are more of a challenge at this point in his life. All the best to him! And thanks for the flag! I hope he gets another!Comment

This is such BS. I can't believe he is retiring - this is very sad. Anxiety aside, I bet that if he was getting consistent games this year like he should be, instead of being dropped if he looks at someone sideways, we wouldn't be having this retirement conversation. It wasn't that long ago that he publicly announced that he'd love to stay on with the Swans next year and beyond. IMHO the fact that he knows that he'll always be treated as a 'plan C' has weighed into this decision.
Mitch Morton - very talented player. This really sucks."Take me down to the Paradise City where the grass is green and the Swans win pretty."Comment
