    David Rhys-Jones on Open Mike

What a champion. Great trip down memory lane.

Went from Sydney to Carlton and his salary went from $30k to $70k. Said he would have stayed at Sydney for $40k. Such a tragedy.

Yeah, I loved him in those early days at Sydney. He looked like such a cat, with those harry high pants shorts...But he was so combative...and so good.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

Yes an absolute talent and in those days, the Swans' enforcer. I sometimes feel we lack reasonable aggression on the times our players are targetted. It was good too see Ted Richards and Anrejs Everett remonstrate with Buddy after he "deliberately" floored Nick Malceski on Friday night. He wasn't the only Hawks player to have a go at Nick either.

I remember hearing about this exciting new kid coming through the Sth Melb U/17's. When I first saw him at the Lake Oval you could see he was going to be a star. He was just one of those players that had the ball on a string and made the play look in slow motion. And not forgetting his debut against Melb at the MCG....talk about a kid taking on the whole opposition physically speaking!

...and the above reminded me of a young long-haired blonde kid with an awkward kicking style taking screamers in the Sth Melb reserves....a very young Warwick Capper! Oh the memories!
